If riding instruction is what you like, you’ll love Hestaland’s Horse Camp. With twice-daily lessons from a riding master, the focus is on honing your skills as an equestrian, as well as enjoying the Icelandic countryside on the trails.

Hestaland Horse Camp is a week-long adult riding camp for beginners to advanced equestrians. It features daily clinic time with riding instructors Guðmar Pétursson and/or Linda Pétursdóttir, trail rides, and plenty of time to soak in the hot tub under the midnight sun. Enjoy home-cooked gourmet meals and a half-day of sightseeing, including a visit to Krauma spa.

Beginners learn about the five-gaited Icelandic horse, from general care and training to how to find your perfect horse. More advanced riders can perfect their tölt or gait transitions, learn speed changes, and practice drill-team patterns, while experts can challenge themselves with lessons on high-level competition horses. Graded trail rides range from relaxed to exuberant. You’ll want to come back year after year to advance your riding education at the Hestaland Horse Camp.
