Hestaland’s Spring Training is an intense learning experience tailored to those who want to improve and polish their riding skills — whether that be in the arena, on the oval track, or out on the trails. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Icelandic horse, its stunning gaits, and what makes the breed so unique.
The educationally focused program includes riding lessons, lectures, and demos given by Gudmar Petursson and Linda Petursdottir. Upon determining your riding level and gaining an understanding of exactly what skills you want to learn or hone in on, we will match you with a horse.
Teaching groups will be based on your experience level, making it easy to accommodate various riding levels. The goal is to help you become a better rider and send you home more knowledgeable about riding, training, and the Icelandic horse in general.
Spring Training also includes the following:
- Delicious home-cooked meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (wine and beer is included at dinner)
- Ground transportation
- Lodging (based on double occupancy)
- 2 rides per day, one before lunch and one after
- Tack (saddle, bridle, and helmet)
