Journey down to the seaside and experience Iceland’s marine wonders, while learning what has brought Iceland to the forefront of sustainable nations.

On this educational environmental trip with knowledgeable guide and marine biologist Dr. Katharina Fietz, discover the intimate linkage of Icelandic culture and the ocean, and immerse yourself in the marine wonders surrounding this country. We will meet some of nature’s most awe-inspiring creatures on a whale-watching trip, and plunge below the surface to discover Iceland’s stunning underwater gardens on a snorkeling tour. Learn about how the Icelandic use their country’s naturalresources sustainably during a visit to a geothermal power plant, and take time to stroll along beautiful nature paths with your guide.

If there is one thing Katharina is more passionate about than horseback riding, it is the ocean. As a marine biologist, she spent the last decade studying, living and working across the world from Galapagos and Australia to Northern Europe investigating marine communities and their responses to human impact and environmental change. Katharina’s expertise enables her to share unique insights that will leave you in awe for the marine life you will encounter.
